Book Report Guidelines
Fourth grade students will complete a book report project each quarter. Each project will begin with student selection of an on-level book (according to current DRA) from 2 genre choices given. Student book choices must be pre-approved by Mrs. Pfaff before the student begins reading and should be a new title that has not already been read by the student. Book selections must be approved by the set date. The students are responsible for reading the book independently. Selection of titles takes place approximately 6-8 weeks before the project due date.
Shortly after approving book choices, Mrs. Pfaff will introduce two to three hands-on projects in which the student will select one to complete. The chosen project is to be completed at home with minimal help from parents. The students will present their projects in class on the day they are due. Many of the projects will require eye contact and good speaking skills, so students should practice the presentation at home before the due date.
