A Note from Mrs. Pfaff
Welcome to fourth grade at Jones Elementary School! I will be on maternity leave for the duration of this school year, and Mrs. Dyxin will be taking my place while I am away. This would be my ninth year teaching and I am a 2008 and 2014 graduate of the University of St. Francis. There I earned a B.A. in Elementary Education and an M.S. in Teaching & Learning with a concentration in Differentiated Instruction. I grew up in Minooka and now live in Plainfield with my husband, daughter, and dog. In my free time I enjoy cooking, exercising, and organic gardening. .
I love teaching and strive to make learning a fun, engaging, and positive experience for every student. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is finding what works best for each learner and challenging my students to their full potential. You can expect a lot of communication, collaboration, and differentiation from me! I am always happy to discuss aspects of our class with parents and families, so do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Please take advantage of this website's available resources. I hope this year proves to be a positive and rewarding experience for you and your child!

A Note About Differentiation
There is quite a bit of differentiation in 4C! I am a big proponent of differentiating instruction and assessment to help individualize each child's educational experience. Differentiation means that your child is going to be working with the content and assignments that best fit his or her learning needs, academic level, and learning style. Although your child’s work may vary from his or her peers, please be assured that we have common curriculum goals and that each student is being given the support needed to thrive at their full potential.
